To Bishops, Priests and Deacons in Oregon and the United States

IV.            There will be differences. The Gospel calls us to respond with genuine love and tolerance, never hate, intolerance and anger.  We should listen as well as speak.

Fr Gabriel Daly OSA, Irish Augustinian priest, theologian and writer wrote:

“…We should recognize that differences in matters that do not belong to the essence of Catholic faith can legitimately vary, and that these differences enrich rather than threaten the values of Church life… Differences enrich rather than threaten the unity of the Church. Heresy is a dangerous word to brandish in circumstances that call for love and tolerance, as they are understood in the Gospel.”

    V.            Remember we are all called to be ambassadors for Christ, and Missionary Disciples in this beautiful created by God.  It is not evil; it only waits to be reclaimed.

So, we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. 2 Corinthians 5:20

After this the Lord appointed seventy[-two] others whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit. Luke 10:1

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. John 3:16

I attended a retreat in August 2024 presented by Yohan Garcia from the USSB.   English: Missionary Disciples            Spanish: Discípulos Misioneros
